PhysioMoves™ Classes

PhysioMoves™ classes are developed by Balance Physical Therapists and Health Coaches to meet the unique needs of movement and aging. The most common workout approach for younger non-athletes is to exercise for appearance. The workout is centered around smaller waists, bigger arms, and a leaner body. While these can all have positive overall health effects, they typically don’t focus on weaknesses in our bodies or in movement.

PhysioMoves classes focus on functional movement exercises that translate into everyday living and performance. It is the preferred approach to exercise for athletes and others looking to maintain an active lifestyle.

Circuit

PhysioMoves is part workout, part education, and all fun. Built around a familiar timed-circuit approach, each station is balanced with the others for a perfect whole body workout. It is an hour of fitness spent discovering your body’s potential while maintaining our “start where your are” attitude. We’ll work on all components of physical movement including strength, flexibility, balance and endurance. The class is led by a Balance Health Coach, guiding you through the exercises and answering any questions you have. Every week the stations change, to surprise your body and engage the mind–the best possible approach for optimal results. You’ll learn the smartest approaches to exercise, and discover ways to maintain a healthy, active life.

Flexibility

Stretching is an essential but often overlooked part of good fitness. Common everyday tasks like driving or carrying a purse or backpack can cause muscles to get tight. Stretching creates better form and posture, lowers the risk of injury, and improves balance. As a part of your exercise plan, stretching helps lessen post-workout fatigue by lengthening constricted muscles. Plus, it feels so good!
